This design brief was challenging. We had to find a durable breakout furniture solution that was comfortable, hard-wearing, stylish and cost-effective. The area was to be welcoming and modern. We worked closely with the client to provide a bright modern environment for the college students and staff.
The chair range was selected particularly because of the unique moulded construction. This makes it very robust yet also slim and stylish. Another plus point for this breakout furniture range was the complementing tables with their wipe-clean laminate surfaces and chunky built-up edge detail. The whole breakout furniture installation was designed to withstand intensive use. There were also bar stools and high tables supplied to match through.
Another area was supplied with more traditional bistro style beech ply chairs with chrome frames to match in with the existing cafeteria furniture.
Cafeteria or refectory areas are generally becoming key multi-functional spaces which are used for informal meetings and project meetings, touchdown areas for short-duration tasks as well as areas for eating and relaxing.
